Can someone help me to do a re-install of PP2012, without all of the "Bloat"? I do not use of need G4 figures, their clothes/hair or associated files.

I would like to install as "Bare Bones" as I can. Keeping the essential files, the primitives, and the animals.
Perhaps some of the select Special Vendor contributions too. But since a lot of those I redundantly own, they are not needed for my use. That way I can load things like Terra Dome and IDL Studio, etc inside poser permanently.

I tried to exclude a lot of this content by doing an express install. But I still have a lot of content that I do not use (*taking up space for things I want inside). Has anyone done this? If so how did you do it, and if it requires removal by hand, would you have a list of the files needed to be removed?

ThanX very much!!!

Ariana

Petit soucis avec l'instruction Parameter()...

I'm using Poser 9 and I want to be able to conform figure B to figure A, and then move the position of figure B relative to A and rotate it so it is somewhere else in the scene (not directly on top of figure A). I want it to still be linked to figure A so that when I move a part of figure A the corresponding part of B moves as well.

So I want some way to 'break' the linking of the positions of two conformed figures, but not break the linking of their poses? I'd like to be able to unlink just the BODY parameters of two conformed figures?
Thank you!
A valid instance of Poser Pro 2012 could not be located at D:\Program Files\Smith Micro\Poser Pro 2012. Please install Poser Pro 2012 before updating with this installer.
Now I have SR2 installed, so why does this appear, when SR2 updated with no problems????
There is a PoserPro exe file in there, has someone made a mistake and has the installer looking for PoserPro2012 or something similar??????

Available now: New Poser 9 / Poser Pro 2012 SR2 and SR2 PoserFusion 2012 plug-ins
Based on a few SR2 issues that were reported online and uncovered by our beta team internally, we've released an updated Service Release 2 for Poser 9 and Poser Pro 2012. These are available online at http://poser.smithmicro.com/updates.html. As always, our Service Releases are cumulative; meaning that all fixes in the previous SR1 and the first version of SR2 are included in this new updater. For the full list of previous Service Release 2 updates, check out this older thread: Service Release 2. We highly encourage you to install the new SR2.

Along with the updated SR2 installers, we have a full set of new SR2 level PoserFusion 2012 plug-ins for 3ds max, Maya, CINEMA 4D and Lightwave, providing feature support in the hosted content for all SR2 level Poser scene files.

You’ll need to have your valid Poser serial number handy to gain access to the installers.

I use one base Infinite in front
1 base Point back light that is turned off
then if I want color I add a side light in what ever tone I need
*for a close up this is great (*see SS), but as I pull back that is
where I start losing the definition and clarity. Could someone
check my basic settings and tell me if they would change anything
in particular?

There is an almost eerie sense of de ja vu with this weeks offering. We have repeat performances from ecurbsemaj, with another magnificent skull themed creation, and teecee2107 with another finely crafted Octane render. And the other two, from ladonna and vicisoucircle, have echoes of last weeks softer lighting and dark backgrounds with hints of flesh and green. However, this weeks stories are all completely unique. What do you think of them?

Just another small "how-to" do things in Cinema 4D. This time it is mostly focused on working with texturing objects.

Let's start.

So we want to create planet earth in C4D?

What do we need?

- a planet
- a texture for this planet
- a sun

But wait! A planet is not just a planet! It consists of three layers to give it a real look:

- the planet itself
- the clouds
- an atmosphere

So let us create a scene taking all this in mind:

To make live easier I have arranged the spheres in a hierarchy. So if I need to move the earth around I move clouds and atmosphere at the same time. The spheres have the following settings:

Just three spheres with a radius of 100, 101 and 102, each one being a little bit wider than the previous one.

The light is a targeted light to our planet, this way I can move the light around and being always focused on the planet. The settings are:

Let's move into our scene a little bit and switch clouds and atmosphere spheres off for the moment:

Next: the earth texture.

I was very excited to find this Library Manager, mostly for the Smart stuff.... but I'm having an incredible amount of issue with it. I made a backup of my runtime (just renamed it) and did a fresh install of Poser Pro 2012. Then updated to SR1 followed by SR2. Ah cleanliness....

I'm running on Win 7 x64. I have UAC turned off. When I installed Poser I told it to place my runtime at a different location than my application (Poser on SSD, runtime on normal HDD).

I haven't installed too much into the new runtime. I was going to do everything via the zip installation process in the Library Manager. However I'm on my 3rd thing that I was going to install (Collection Yellow, just a texture collection) and got the following message after clicking okay on the window that contains the various information about the pack (artist, title, vendor, url, documentation).

That locks up everything and I have to force quit poser.

Next I close everything, reopen, go to the preferences and clean the instances and temp files just in case. I go to Metadata building and click Analyse Bindings. Under 3 correspondences I go into Pose/Mat V4 BasicWear (I've installed BasicWear, V4, and Relaxing Expressions... that's it). It lists all the Boy Shorts, Panties, and Sports Bra Mats. No biggie I think. I select the top one, Ancient Warrior Boy Shorts.pz2. That lists the Boy Shorts, Panties, and Sports Bra figures. I right click on Boy Shorts and choose "Keep for this MAT". It gets rid of the other two but gives the following error:

Now if I quit Poser and relaunch and go to Metadata Building and choose Analyse Bindings, it's back in 3 correspondences. I have also tried the same steps but also right clicking on the .pz2 and choosing Generate Bindings. Same result.

I also just now randomly went to the Searching tab and got this error:

What can I do to resolve this? I can accept if it's a mistake I made... I'd just like to get it working.

I recently had a 2nd PC put together in the hopes that I could use the 2nd rig strictly as a render node and keep working on Poser Pro 2012 scenes on my main PC. I asked for some advice through Smith Micro and was in their live chat getting support, and thought I should be able to get it working with the instruction given, but no such luck.

As I sit here, I am watching the Queue Manager sit idle on both my main machine and my 2nd machine. The Status on the main machine says "Waiting" and in the output area at the bottom it says "...adding new Queue entry id 1" but nothing else is happening. My Windows Task Manager is not showing FFRender.exe on either rig and the resources are at around 3%, so nothing is happening. And I don't know why. I have read the entire section in the Poser Pro Reference Manual on using the Queue Manager for Network Rendering and it is undetailed to say the least. It doesn't mention what your settings should be under the "Queue" tab in the main node or the render node, so I took on assumption that the main node (the one I'm running the PP2012 app from) should have only "Send Jobs to Network" checked, and the render node (my 2nd PC with only the Queue Manager software installed) should have "Process Jobs Locally" and "Accept Jobs from Network" checked. I have "Show Log Panel" checked on both.

For clarity's sake and to help any with the troubleshooting, both of my PCs are running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit edition. They are physically networked together via a router and both PCs can see each other, both through the Network Access and through a Windows HomeGroup I set up. I have upgraded my version of PP2012 to SR2, and have also upgraded the Queue Manager on the 2nd PC to SR2. I am not getting any firewall error or feedback indicating anything is wrong. It simply isn't doing anything. In the Log Panel on the remote node is says "Discovery query from (IP ADDRESS) (port ****). 1 Procs Available". It says this twice, one below the other.

If you need any further information to help figure out what the problem is, please let me know and I'd be happy to provide it. Thanks in advance for any help!

Hey all

I'm right in the middle of doing a Sci Fi Epic space battle animation between earth warships and an unknown alien mothership. So far i have got a lot of footage rendered, but it just seems to lack any real human life without a bit of dialogue added in places.

Using the built in poser talk designer and using poser characters I wish to do this. I do not use any other forum that I know that may have people who would be interested in helping out in this sort of project & I don't want to have to pay out large amounts of money from some hollywood voice actor casting company so that is why I thought I may try my luck here. All I need is about 3-4 people to read out a few simple lines, nothing major for characters in the main bridge of a destroyer class ship, such as communications officer, admiral and a few others. you will be credited for your support when the video is finished. Please Pm me if interested

In Poser debut once I put clothes on Capt Alpha , the clothes won't move with him. Can someone please tell me how to fix this?
I've tried to parent the clothes to the body individually and that doesn't work. Please tell me EXACTLY how to do this, step by step?
I have tried anything online that I could find, which is very little ! And I have tried everything that I can think of.
Thank you so much !

I recently updated to SR2. Since I updated, I've had problems with save files being corrupted, on scenes where I feel like it shouldn't be a problem. Before SR2 I saved, loaded, and rendered a file that I believe was about 5 GB; since SR2, I've had files that are only a few hundred MB get corrupted. I first noticed a problem when I loaded a scene and a dynamic skirt seemed to have blown up. I've now experienced a problem in a second scene in which all body morphs have disappeared from the figures. Facial morphs remained intact, but the body morphs were gone--on one figure they remained in the clothes. Both of these were scenes I was working on for my mom for Mother's Day (obviously not happening in time now...), but I obviously can't get a large render done if I can't even save the scene. Does anyone know what the problem is and if there is a solution?

I'm new to Poser and still with the trial.
I think after almost 1 month Poser has met my inexperienced user requirements, but, one thing I would like to know before buying Poser this week:
How do I make figures in an animation breath or make those minute moves that separates them from a 'statue' like position, those same moves that a human makes when standing still doing nothing but standing?..Do you have to do this frame by frame? or there is a built in capability for this?
Thanks

Is it possible to use a Poser weight mapped figure in DAZ with the mapping intact and functional? (I'm aware DAZ -> Poser won't work particularly well)

Barring that, is it possible to save a custom figure with both Poser and DAZ weight mapping data included? I'm working on a custom figure and I'd like to have it available in WM for both programs if at all possible in a single package versus doing separate versions.

Before I rush off and send a bug report into SM is anyone still experiencing problems with the library palette not retaining it's position on the second screen when closing and re-opening Poser Pro 2012?

This is an issue I have had since release and I am certain I put in a bug report early on but despite the service pack release, I find the issue remains.

By the way it is not an issue in Poser 9.........

You work on a great picture and is ready to render. But as soon as I start rendering, I get an error message saying that rendering found an memory error message causing the program to be unstable. I use Daz Studio 3 and my computer has 4 GB of RAM. Anyone know what the problem may be?
