Wow,  you're either determined or nuts...

Seriously?  You want to learn how to do hair from soup to nuts?

And you're not scared of crazy squirrels nomming on your head?

Well, as long as you know the risks, I guess I can teach you...

Hmmm newbie nut... check
super caffeinated squirrel.... check
class three Kevlar body armor and padding... check

Okay I'm ready...
Just don't stand too close, I don't wanna get nommed when your head turns into a giant walnut. ;P

Yes,  I am probably one of the strangest teachers you're going to find on the subject of modeling,  but I believe learning should be fun.

If you've survived my previous tutorials, you already know I like to joke around but at the same time sneak in tibits of information and teach you not by whacking you up side the head with a manual over and over again, but by actually using the skills as you learn them!

So what's so cool about my tutorials that no one else offers?  Well.....

  • 279 pages of pure Littlefox advice, wisecracks, joking, and guidance.
  • NO Stuffy this button does this and this button does that glossaries.  You are here to learn how to texture hair, not re-read a stuffy old manual! ;)   We learn by DOING!
  • NO rehashing tutorials you've already covered!  While I am still teaching you the tools, I'm going to assume you already know how to use the basic tools since we covered those in tutorials 1 and 2.  This one is building on those skills so there will be a few reminders, but not many.  You're paying top dollar for NEW KNOWLEDGE not a review!
  • NO set up everything like shown in the picture, hit the button and you're done.  Each hair is UNIQUE as is each Texture.  I teach you how to tailor make your textures to the hair by leading you step by step through each part of the process!
  • NO noise and blur hair textures!!! We are going to make from scratch real looking hair!
  • NO hair resources!  I teach you to make your own!!!!!
  • NO brush resources!  I teach you to make your own!!!!
  • MANY MANY MANY  Big pictures by which you can actually see what I'm doing and instructions for each step.
  • Did I mention Littlefox wit and zaniness making this an easy read?

  • 1 - 146 page tutorial on Hair Modeling and UVMapping
  • 1 - 133 page tutorial on Hair Texturing, Poser AND DS Material Making
  • 1 - Crazy Squirrel Commentary
  • 1 - Instructions in Littlefox Foo-do magic tools
  • 1 - Texture to check your work with in the Modeling Tutorial
  • 1 - Ready to go Hair Model obj with UVMap for you to practice Texturing along with me.
  • The modeling tutorial covers the aspects of Modeling and UVMapping for a hair product.
  • The modeling tutorial is specifically written for Modo users and two versions of UVmapping offered for Modo or UVLayout users.  However, the tutorial is written with advice for people using this to learn the technique to apply to other modeling programs too!
  • This tutorial assumes you have the basic skills to navigate the modeling software of your choice... not mastery, just enough to be able to work the camera, the move/scale/rotate/transform tool,  find the bevel and slice tools, and what a UVmap is.  Basically if you flew through the first tutorial series or have already modeled in your chosen software,  you're ready to go!
  • Please note: The modeling tutorial is focusing on the modeling and mapping of shorter hair that can be smart propped or simply rigged using a previous tutorial.  Rigging instructions are not included.
  • The texturing tutorial covers the aspects of Texturing in Photoshop, and creating Mats/Material Presets in both Poser AND DS.
  • The texturing tutorial is specifically written for Photoshop users.  The techniques of creating brushes and using those brushes may or may not apply to all paint programs.
  • The texturing tutorial assumes you have the basic skills to navigate photoshop's layer tools, where the tool bar is and being able to use the paint brush at least a little.
  • I strongly recommend the use of a tablet with the texturing tutorial but it is possible to do without one.
