Its strengths go beyond Material File Writing. It also allows you to

Values across multiple materials quickly.
It also makes it easy to work with Materials, allowing you to define
and load Selection Presets that can be used to select certain materials automatically with a single click. It can be used within Poser's

organized and easier to follow, particularly when it comes to
configuring the script.
The Borders around UI elements have been removed to better fit in with skinned OS'es.

DAZ Studio File Writing:
Writes DAZ Studio 2 compliant .ds files, which can be read by Studio 2 and higher.
Writes all simple Poser 4 compliant information.
The following Poser Material Features are written into DAZ Studio
Material Files: Diffuse Color, Diffuse Value, Specular Color, Specular
Value, Highlight Size, Ambient Color, Ambient Value, Transparency,
Reflection Color (spherical only), Bump, Displacement PLUS Texture Map
support for every one of these! There are limitations concerning
"heavy" nodework and nodes that intercept a simple image map plugged
into a channel. Translated settings are based on mathematical
assessments and are not "tweaked to taste".
Does not facilitate Transparency Edge or Falloff (DS2 does not
use), Alternate Diffuse, Alternate Specular, Raytraced Reflection,
Gradient Bump, and Normal Maps.
Its best to use written ds files as a basis for your own material tweaks in DAZ Studio.
DS Lighting Models are handled via a dictionary file that is
included with MATWriter Panel 2012. You may edit this file
manually to control which material names use which lighting
models. There is also an option to set up the lighting model for
a selected material directly from the script! (NEW).
You are able to set the Minimum and Maximum Displacement and Bump Ranges within the script. This is a global setting. (NEW)
