:For almost each category, you get a special Background material that applies to the background of the scene. Also, these materials feature some special Ground materials to be applied onto the ground or big flat surfaces in case the regular materials do not work properly. This should avoid you to need to tweak your materials and will greatly improve your workflow.
:The Simple versions will require that you pick up a color in the Tone node as explained and illustrated in the pdf. It is a one click operation.
:The Textured versions will require that you load a texture map in the Source node. Same thing if you use the Transparent materials: you'll have to load the texture and the transparency maps in the proper nodes as explained and illustrated in the pdf.
:The Reflect versions use raytraced reflections.
:All materials use Ambiant Occlusion. Therefore, you need to use the Firefly renderer with the "Use Raytracing" option enabled.
:The outline, when present in the material, is fully customisable. In some cases (Charcoal for eg), you can even degenerate the edges of the mesh to get a very natural diffused outline.
:The materials automatically create a "backlight" and an "anti-light" FX (fully customisable). As a consequence, you do not need to use complex lighting solutions to get very nice shadings: 1 light is enough. It can be any type of light (it's preferable to avoid IBL though). More: some of the Pop-Art materials, such as the Tribal ones, or the Esquisse material can produce very cool effects without any light in your scene!
:The Materials Collections are designed for Jessie (Graphite), James (Charcoal), Miki (Color Crayon) and Koji (Pastel Cray, Soft Pastel, Rubbing and Points).
