ART MATERIALS Vol1 - Cartoon Shaders is a huge pack of 1711 materials featuring various styles to help you create most impressive cartoon-like pictures in Poser 6, 7 (or its future releases). It can be easily used for comics, commercial illustrations, novel covers or for your own pleasure.
This pack is divided into 6 sections:
A- Monotone (285 materials)
B- Duotone (287 materials)
C- Tritone (282 materials)
D- Quadritone (282 materials)
E- Gradient (282 materials)
*NEW* F- Smooth (293 materials)
These sections correspond to 6 different graphic style options and each of these are subdivided into 6 features:
1- Simple Colors: 11 colors, simply shaded.
These shaders are to be used onto surfaces with no highlight or reflection such as concrete, skin, some types of clothes, etc.
2- Highlight: featuring 11 colors using highlights.
These shaders can be used onto anything that has to carry on highlights such as wet or very polished surfaces.
3- Reflection: featuring 11 colors using highlights and a reflection map.
These shaders can be applied onto the same kind of surfaces as the previous ones.
4- Raytracing: featuring 11 colours using highlights and raytraced reflections.
Same as above but with raytraced reflections combined to the reflection map system.
5- FX: featruring special materials effects such as Black&White, Chrome, Gold, Latex, Bricks, Marble, Tiles or Wood. These FX materials are not the same, according to the section.
6- Textured: featuting 8 options to use texture maps with a cartoon look (simple, highlight, transparent, trans+highlight, reflection, reflection+trans, raytracing and raytrace+trans).
These shaders are "blanks": their Image_Map nodes do not have any texture loaded. You will have to load a texture in these nodes manually for each of them.
The 11 colors are: Aqua, Blue, Brown, Green, Magenta, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red and Yellow. Each color contains 6 different tones numbered from the darkest (color_name00) to the brightest (color_name05). With a total of 66 colors, you can satisfy most of your needs though you should always feel free to create and save your own colors in the library.
The textured versions aside, these materials are 100% texture-free. This means they will require of your system the fewest possible ressources, thusq ensuring a successful render, even at large sizes.
These materials render very quickly especially with the P4 renderer. For still pictures, I advise to use the Firefly renderer with raytracing in order to get as many details as possible. But for animations, the P4 renderer is unbeatable in terms of speed.
